Introduction
Daman
Daman boasts of a rich historical heritage spanning over more than 2000 years. The district of Daman of the erstwhile Union Territory of Goa, Daman & Diu is situated in the Surat District of Gujarat. Daman is having a pleasant climate all over the year. In summer, Daman is blessed with cool breeze coming from over the Arabian Sea. The Long shore - line at Devka Beach has always fascinated the tourists. The beautiful and well tended amusement park with its musical fountain and kid's corner has become very popular, attracting bus loads of tourists every weekend.
Daman can boast of a rich and multi - faced cultural heritage. Dance and Music are very much part of the daily life of Damanite. Here is a true fusion of cultures - tribal, urban, European and Indian. This ornate amalgam is reflected in the traditional dances of Daman. Various Portuguese dances are well preserved and still widely presented. Tribal dances with caustic social comments are much in vogue.

Diu
A beautiful blend of sun, sand and sea, Diu is a God's gift to those in quest of a blessed land where the weary weight of this unintelligible world can, for a while, be lightened and the waking soul can hear the music of the nature. This tiny island of breeze, beauty and serenity situated off the southern tip of the Saurashtra (Kathiawad) peninsula of Gujarat, lapped by the Arabian Sea, is a picture of calmness with superb beaches and a fascinating history.
The historical Portuguese Fort, imposing churches, the golden sand beaches, blue sea waters, latest water sports, clean environment and friendly local population make Diu a perfect getaway for all seasons. It has excellent all weather road links.

Beaches
Chakratirth Beach
Chakratirth beach is a lovely place to stopover during your beach tours and beach holidays. Located centrally this beach serves the locals as well as domestic and international tourists, providing them with an opportunity to have a worthwhile break. The hill and the adjacent areas and countryside have been beautifully lightened. One can also visit the ancient Shiv temple and a fabulous sunset point that form for great tourist destinations in Western India.
Devka Beach
Devka beach is a popular tourist destination as it also has an exciting amusement park that is ornamented with multi coloured water fountains. One can go on pony rides on the Devka beach. Really, this lovely beach is a great place to go with kids. This beach is among the six beautiful beaches which provide all basic amenities to tourists.
Gomatimala Beach
Gomatimala beach is exceptionally beautiful and quiet. In the exceptionally beautiful horse-shoe (semi-circular) shaped beach, various water sports facilities are available. It is safe for swimming. It is located at a distance of 27 kilometres from the main city of Diu. The vast stretch of white sand offers excellent opportunities for those who wish to relax and spend a quite holiday.
Jampore Beach
Jampore beach is a great place to go if you love swimming and other water sports. During festivals this beach is lighted up and attracts people from all walks of life. Plenty of branching Palm trees whisper and sway in the intoxicating sea breeze all day long. The virginity of the beach and serenity of the surroundings give you peace and pleasure beyond expression.
Nagoa Beach
Nagoa beach is a palm-fringed, largely deserted and secluded beach. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in India. Just twenty minutes refreshing drive from Diu will carry you to the unique shoe-shaped beach of Nagoa. A swim in the water of this unspoilt virgin beach is most refreshing one.
Vanakbhara Beach
Vanakbhara beach is among all other famous beaches in Diu which draws a special mention. Far away from the madding crowds is the second name of Vanakbhara beach.
