Sarojini Naidu (BMI) Translated from original in English.

Sarojini Naidu was essentially, a poet. She dazzled through the English literary world in the post Shelly-Keats-Tennyson ear with her lyrics. At home, she was acclaimed by none other than Rabindra Nath Tagore, while Gandhiji gave her the title 'Bharat Kokila'. She joined the struggle for Independence under the influence of Gokhale and Mahatma Gandhi. Her dream was Hindu-Muslim unity for which she fought relentlessly. Emancipation of women and ensuring equal rights to them was dear to her heart. The work initiated by her in this field is still continuing.
