Customs duty has been reduced from 15 percent to 10 per cent on halogens, sulphur, carbon, hydrogen, and methanol and from 10 per cent to 5 per cent on organic chemicals falling under headings 2901 to 2904 (except Chloromethane and Trichloroethylene). Duty on Ethyl Vinyl Acetate, Polymers of Ethylene (LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, LHDPE, LMDPE), Polymers and copolymers of Propylene, Polymers and copolymers of Styrene and Polymers of Vinyl Chloride has been reduced from 10 per cent to 5 per cent. Duty on catalyst (3815) has been reduced from 10 per cent to 7.5 per cent. Customs duty on Styrene, Ethlyne Dichloride and Vinyl Chloride Monomer has been reduced from 5 per cent to 2 per cent and 5 per cent to Nil on Naptha for manufacture of specified polymers.
